Weeks-Long Timelines

Other contractors string flooring projects out for weeks while your home stays in chaos.

Most installations completed in 3 days, scheduled within a week of signing.

Still living with a 1990s bathroom? You are not alone. Thousands of Arizona homes built in the builder boom of the 1990s and 2000s feature bathrooms with dated vanities, worn-out tile, brass fixtures, and garden tubs that nobody uses. Zona Floors specializes in targeted bathroom upgrades that bring these spaces into the modern era — without the cost, disruption, and timeline of a full gut remodel.

What Makes a Bathroom Look Outdated?

Several common features date a bathroom instantly:

  • Almond, bisque, or pink fixtures — the warm-toned fixtures popular in the 80s and 90s clash with modern design
  • Small, pattern-heavy floor tile — especially 4x4 tiles in terracotta, pink, or mauve
  • Builder-grade oak vanities — the honey-toned oak cabinets that came standard in tract homes
  • Brass or gold-tone fixtures — faucets, towel bars, and light fixtures in dated brass finishes
  • Garden tubs that sit unused — large soaking tubs that take up valuable floor space
  • Cracked or grout-stained shower tile — years of moisture and wear leave tile looking tired
  • Hollywood-style vanity lights — the long bar fixtures with exposed globe bulbs

If your bathroom has two or more of these features, a targeted upgrade can transform the room’s appearance dramatically. Not sure if it is time to act? Our checklist of signs your bathroom needs a remodel can help you decide.

Our Upgrade Approach

Rather than gutting the entire bathroom, we focus on the highest-impact changes within your budget:

Vanity and Fixture Swap

Replacing the vanity, faucet, mirror, and light fixture is often the single biggest visual improvement. We remove the old vanity, patch and paint if needed, and install a modern replacement — floating vanities, shaker-style cabinets, or contemporary vessels. New faucets in brushed nickel, matte black, or chrome replace dated brass. A modern mirror and light fixture complete the transformation.

Floor Tile Replacement

We remove old vinyl, linoleum, or dated tile and install modern porcelain or ceramic floor tile. Large-format tiles in neutral tones create a cleaner, more spacious appearance. This project typically takes 1-2 days.

Shower Tile Repair

Cracked tiles, stained grout, and failing caulk make a shower look neglected. We replace damaged tiles (matching existing if possible), regrout with fresh color, and recaulk all joints. If the damage is extensive or the waterproofing behind is compromised, we recommend a more thorough bathroom flooring project.

Tub Replacement

If you have a garden tub that never gets used, we can remove it and either convert the space to a walk-in shower or install a smaller, modern soaking tub. This frees up floor space and updates the room’s functionality. Tub-to-shower conversion is detailed on our bathroom flooring page.

Cost-Effective Results

Bathroom upgrades typically range from $3,000 to $10,000 — significantly less than a full remodel that can run $20,000-$40,000+. By working within the existing layout and avoiding plumbing relocation or structural changes, we keep costs down while delivering a fresh, modern look.

Most upgrade projects are completed in 2-5 days. You will have a bathroom that looks years newer without the weeks of construction disruption that come with a full remodel.

I have had a fantastic experience with Zona Floors tiling my shower. So quick from start to finish and quality results. I loved up front working with Audrey, who is knowledgeable and awesome to collaborate with. She was so kind and attentive the whole project and made me excited about the process. Kevin and Jamie did the install and were very communicative from before they arrived to well after the job ended. They finished ahead of schedule and the results are beautiful. They also asked for my input on every detail and gave me suggestions, which I really appreciate for a smaller project. Thank you so much!

I'd have given Zona 5 stars for the incredible flooring job, and then 10 stars after tonight's disaster. Tom was quick to respond, reasonably priced, and his crew was extremely professional and fast. The floors are stunning. 2 days after they finished, my bathroom floods. I call in a panic just asking for advice. Abraham and Yineli drove over an hour to get here at 9PM to help out with the floors. They also brought plumbing tools and valves in hand. Abraham changed out 3 corroded valves for me and made sure the water was under control until the plumber could come tomorrow without asking for anything. I literally cannot thank you enough!

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the difference between a bathroom upgrade and a full remodel?
A bathroom upgrade focuses on surface-level improvements — replacing fixtures, updating tile, swapping vanities, and refreshing finishes — without structural changes or major plumbing work. A full remodel may include layout changes, moving plumbing, and gutting the space to the studs.
02 How much does a bathroom upgrade cost?
Bathroom upgrades typically range from $3,000 to $10,000 depending on the scope. A vanity swap with new fixtures might be $3,000-$5,000. Adding floor tile and shower tile repair can bring it to $7,000-$10,000. We provide detailed estimates.
03 Can you fix cracked shower tile without retiling the whole shower?
In some cases, yes. If the cracking is limited to a few tiles and the waterproofing behind is intact, we can replace individual tiles and regrout. If the cracking is widespread or the substrate is compromised, a more extensive repair is recommended.
04 How long does a bathroom upgrade take?
Most bathroom upgrades are completed in 2-5 days depending on scope. A vanity swap with fixture update can be done in 1-2 days. Adding tile work extends the timeline.
